In this new dimension, which is getting closer and closer, consumers will interact in a 3D virtual dimension, using personalised avatars to engage in such activities as shopping, learning, and participating in all kinds of events. In fact, this is already happening in <strong>gaming<\/strong>, just think of <strong>Roblox and Fortnite<\/strong>, which have respectively 45 million daily and 350 million monthly active users. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.smarteventi.it\/virtual-events.html\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Another example is virtual events<\/b><\/span><\/a>, which represent a new way of sharing collective experiences in virtual spaces.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Creating a virtual shopping experience: retailers and brands warm up the engines<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">New e-commerce experiences, such as 3D virtual <strong>flagship shops and pop-up stores<\/strong>, are already being implemented to anticipate the advent of the metaverse. The aim is to create online shopping activities that are more dynamic and engaging than anything that we\u2019ve experienced before. Therefore, several companies are building <strong>devices for virtual and augmented reality<\/strong> and preparing to adapt their online shopping experience, currently limited to &#8220;simple&#8221; e-commerce websites.<\/p>\n<p>VR and AR headsets are set to be gaming be more immersive, and in the same way they are likely to make immersive virtual shopping widely accessible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A survey by Statista forecasts that more than <strong>26 million AR and VR headsets<\/strong> will be sold by 2023, and a survey by Emerging Tech Brew and The Harris Poll reported that 23% of Americans have already used one of these devices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Meta is also going with the flow. Its first VR headsets did not totally meet the customers\u2019 needs, but the devices are being quickly upgraded as the technology evolves and they could definitely play a key role in the new immersive world of the metaverse.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.smarteventi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/meta-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-19003 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.smarteventi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/meta-3.jpg\" alt=\"meta\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.smarteventi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/meta-3.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.smarteventi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/meta-3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.smarteventi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/meta-3-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.smarteventi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/meta-3-810x608.jpg 810w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>The final goal is for everything to be metaverse, without being metaverse<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Companies are already creating specific line items for immersive e-commerce in their budgets, and brands and retailers are following the technological evolution that makes this new scenario not only possible but imminent. At the same time, they are focusing on their target audience, to meet exactly the needs of their potential consumers. In short, they are creating new business models and investing in new virtual spaces, as they acknowledged the potential of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.smarteventi.it\/virtual-events.html\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>digital events in a live 3D environment<\/b><\/span><\/a>, particularly during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This process might end up paradoxically erasing the term \u201cmetaverse\u201d itself. These new virtual experiences, in fact, could become just the new way of being online, rather than a separate part of the web.
