How do you develop a sense of community when working with a virtual team? Here are some tips derived from our experience as a company that has been partly implementing this way of working for many years.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Give your communications a regular rhythm, without forcing it<\/h3>\n<p>Meeting regularly, on the virtual platform of your choice, is crucial to keeping your team united: your colleagues must be perceived as part of your professional &#8220;environment&#8221;, even if you do not meet physically. Initially, it is essential for these meetings to take place on a regular basis. However, be careful not to fall into the routine trap: online meetings should not be longer than they need to be, otherwise they will be perceived as obligations that &#8220;steal&#8221; time from your life and productivity. Furthermore, when the team is well established, it is a good idea to reduce the frequency of meetings and to follow the basic principle of true workplace happiness: if it fits in a phone call do not schedule a meeting for it, if you can put it in an email don\u2019t make a phone call about it, if you can whatsapp it don\u2019t put it in an email.
