We have learnt a lot over the past two years. Our agency has carried on organising events<\/strong><\/a> even at times when in-person gatherings weren\u2019t allowed: we held virtual press days<\/strong><\/a>, remote team buildings<\/strong><\/a>, and a whole trade show on a 3D platform<\/strong><\/a>. This experience taught us a great deal and prompted us to consider what our customers and event attendees really expected. And at a time when virtual events have taken over the whole industry, we realised that personal connection, networking, and unique experiences are crucial to success in the event business. So these are the elements we will try to capitalise on as we return to in-person events. Moreover, the success of our virtual press days has shown us how the sense of contact and uniqueness can be enhanced by handing out gadgets at events. But beware: event gadgets nowadays can no longer be cheap branded plastic items, like those that have been in vogue at trade shows for years. To be truly effective, they must instead be designed to add value to the individual event experience<\/strong>. How do you pick the right ones? We recommend you follow these three criteria.<\/p>\n

Sustainability<\/h3>\n

This is the first concern you should bear in mind: we can no longer afford to flood the planet with plastic objects destined to be thrown away (along with the memory of our event) after a few days and to pollute our seas for hundreds of years. For all our events over the last two years, we have created sustainable gadgets<\/strong>, working with experienced partners to produce them. This not only reduces the environmental impact of our activities but also provides added value to attendees with unquestionably high-quality event gadgets. In terms of brand identity – specifically, that of the client hosting the event – an environmentally friendly gadget is also a way of communicating the company’s values and presenting its environmental choices<\/strong>. To create sustainable gadgets, it is important to choose partners that can guarantee the traceability and quality of their products.<\/p>\n

Collectability<\/h3>\n

This is a consideration that brings us back to the promotional aspect of gadget choice and which, we are aware, cannot be applied in all cases, but where it can, it greatly increases customer loyalty<\/strong>. Creating different types of gadgets, which are functional on their own, but can also make up a set with its own aesthetic value, automatically stimulates the desire to continue to interact with the brand. Of course, the desire to ‘collect’ is activated if the product provides added value and it only makes sense if the event is aimed at encouraging repeated interaction with the brand.<\/p>\n

Customisation<\/h3>\n

Gadgets for events are often standardised, especially when it comes to items that are to be distributed to a large number of attendees. However, if the event we are holding qualifies as a “premium” experience or if it is reserved for a very select group of participants, it may be useful to customise gadgets in order to make each one unique for the category or even the individual to whom we intend to offer it. An easy way to handle customisation is to create gift boxes<\/strong>, which contain different items and can be presented in different combinations as required.<\/p>\n
