In over ten years of experience, we have learnt how a healthy and vibrant professional ecosystem depends heavily on the ability to improve the quality of relationships in the workplace &#8211; which is precisely why team building is so important to us! Another field that we have seen grow in recent years is coaching, which has grown to play an important role in the corporate training landscape. One of the outstanding examples we have had the pleasure of coming into contact with is Booster LAB. We talked about it in an interview with co-founder <strong>Ilenia La Leggia<strong>.<!--more--><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Out interview with Ilenia La Leggia, co-founder of Booster Lab and coaching expert<\/h3>\n<h4>How and why did you come up with the idea for this ambitious project, which aims to revolutionise and innovate the world of training?<\/h4>\n<p>BoosterLAB was born by listening to people: those in the company who are involved in human resources, talent and training in various capacities, those who have undertaken individual coaching courses with us, but also all those we met as participants in our classes. The stories were and are all different, but one constant is often present: all those hours constitute a hurdle. They are perceived to be a waste of time that one has to devote oneself to in order to avoid getting into trouble within the company, but which one would gladly do without since &#8216;the subjects are always the same anyway&#8217;.<br \/>\nAnd since &#8217;employees who do not feel engaged cost companies 18% of their annual salary&#8217; (Source: Gallup), investing in &#8216;traditional&#8217; training projects is increasingly risky for companies, as significant investments may end up not creating real engagement and converting into a huge waste of resources.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"mks_button mks_button_medium rounded\" href=\"#contattaci\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Would you like to try new team building activities for your business? Call us today!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>What do you mean by \u2018a new training model&#8217; and what methodologies have you developed or do you plan to apply during your courses?<\/h4>\n<p>The first innovative aspect of our approach is that all our training projects start from <strong>people&#8217;s real needs<\/strong>, which we investigate through the use of <strong>scientifically validated emotional intelligence assessments<\/strong>.<br \/>\nAnd if you are wondering why emotional intelligence the answer is in the numbers. Research has shown that emotional intelligence is the greatest predictor of success: more than 50 per cent of individual and corporate performance, in fact, is explained by EI, and 70 per cent of corporate restructuring fails for reasons linked to the companies&#8217; inability to manage the emotional-relational dynamics triggered by the change itself.<br \/>\nThat is why, only after getting a complete assessment by using these tools, do we <strong>profile the resources and combine the data collected with corporate objectives<\/strong> through the tools of <strong>co-planning and co-assessment<\/strong>. We thus succeed in building a model that generates positive spin-offs, not only in the short term, but also in the long term.<br \/>\nBut I would like to say that this approach is also the ground on which we built <strong>Booster Academy<\/strong>, the branch of our company that trains those who wish to learn a method for developing their own and others&#8217; potential or who want to become Professional Coaches.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21249\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.smarteventi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/coachning-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Is the structure of the courses you offer aligned with the structure of traditional masters and courses or is it different? What features make your <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.smarteventi.it\/en\/why-problem-solving-will-be-your-most-important-soft-skill-in-2023.html\">training<\/a> model unique?<\/h4>\n<p>Coaching needs a lot of practice. One of the things that distinguishes us most is <strong>the 100-hour practical training on real cases with the support and supervision of a senior coach<\/strong>. Often, in schools, practice hours are spent simulating cases in the classroom or swapping contacts between students so that their respective friends can participate in the coaching phase.<br \/>\nIn addition to the 90 lecture hours plus six practice hours, we make sure that people have done at least 100 hours of practice on real cases before taking the exam and obtaining their diploma. We senior coaches and master teachers are personally involved in this very important training phase. We carefully select the people who enter the course as clients (coachees), we match coaches and coachees, and we support the coaches in internships with regular, mandatory appointments.<br \/>\nWe do all this for two reasons: firstly, because we believe in the profession and in order to bring it to excellence we deem it important to do our best to ensure that the market welcomes <strong>well-prepared professionals<\/strong>. And secondly because too often we have seen people coming out of coaching schools and feeling lost and unprepared to handle clients and real stories. Those who finish the Booster Academy master&#8217;s programme, with an internship, are ready to face the market from day one of graduation.<br \/>\nThat&#8217;s not all. The Coaching Master&#8217;s programme includes specific and very practical lessons dedicated to starting your own business as a coach.<\/p>\n<p>How are we aligned to other schools? Coaching belongs to the category of so-called unprotected professions, regulated in Italy by Law 4\/2013, which includes all those professionals who are not part of a professional order or board and who carry out activities that are often very relevant to the economy. Coaching in recent years has been proving increasingly effective and capable of making a difference both in companies and in the personal lives of individuals. This explosion of this profession linked to its own strength is in danger of being jeopardised by those who approach it without proper training. It is precisely for this reason that professional associations such as AICP (Associazione Coach Professionisti), of which my associates and I are members, have established three basic criteria: the course must have a minimum duration of 80 hours with a final exam, structured according to the guidelines of the Charter of Ethics of the relevant associations; the training must be carried out over no less than three months, and the training hours must be equally distributed over the same period. Finally, digital training is possible but at least 30 per cent of training time must happen in person.<\/p>\n<h4>What types of services and\/or training proposals are offered and how can a companies benefit from them?<\/h4>\n<p>First of all, the <strong>Coaching Master<\/strong>. This course is ideal for all those who want to learn a method that enables them to <strong>develop their own potential <\/strong>and contribute to the growth of others&#8217;. Think of all those people in your company who manage work teams or constantly engage with many complex stakeholders or those who want to manage their own business more effectively or are facing a change of position and the challenges that come with it.<br \/>\nThe in-depth and specialised masterclasses also share these goals and develop the skills needed to operate in various professional fields.<br \/>\nThe first specialistic course, that will start in March, is related to training. Many coaches are involved in training but new graduates do not always know how to deal with a classroom, set up a teaching programme or simply distinguish training from coaching.<br \/>\nAnother specialisation that will be introduced is meant to help coaches operate within companies.<br \/>\nLastly, many students feel the need to undertake specific coaching courses themselves in order to work on certain topics covered during the training course that they realise are the key to &#8216;functioning&#8217; better; we therefore help them develop their personal and professional skills.<br \/>\nIn short, we believe in leaving nothing to chance!<\/p>\n<h4>The Booster Academy website mentions a &#8216;humanistic model of training&#8217;. What do you mean by this definition and what are the pillars on which you base and design your training proposal?<\/h4>\n<p>It means that at the centre of our approach is the whole person and not their performance. The idea that emotions can be left out of the decision-making process is just an illusion because emotions and thoughts influence each other. This is precisely why we like to integrate tools from different disciplines to make the most of the individual&#8217;s inclinations, all using principles of sociology, coaching, emotional intelligence, life design and project management. The Booster Academy training model is based on four pillars: Awareness: self-knowledge starting with the person&#8217;s needs is at the heart of our methodology. Effectiveness, problem-solving and the consequent achievement of goals are the most authentic and the best of the possible side effects. Synergy: we believe in collaboration between the various professions whose aim is to help others, but above all we believe in respecting the boundaries that separate them. This is precisely why our Master in coaching is offered in partnership with the Adler Institute, which has a long history as a school of psychotherapy and counselling. Ethics: a word that inspires our every step and our daily actions. We teach the coaching method according to the UNI 11601:2015 Standard and refer to the guidelines of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the code of ethics of the Associazione Italiana Coach Professionisti (AICP). Continuous Training: the more the context in which we move changes, the more we are called to know about it. As coaches associated with AICP we are obliged to continuous training and we are keen to personally invest in this training to put everything at the service of our clients and coachees.<\/p>\n<h4>With regard to the proposed internships, could you give us a general overview of the proposal and what prospects does such an internship offer the student?<\/h4>\n<p>During the master&#8217;s course we deal with various topics and we are keen to give everyone the opportunity to get involved in the technicalities acquired. For this reason, in addition to opening up spontaneous application windows to participate in coaching courses with trainees on pre-established topics, we sign agreements with companies and organisations to enable our students to do an internship working with real cases and different clients also in the career field.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21249\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.smarteventi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/coachning-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>If you had to summarise in three concepts the reasons why people should choose you, what would you say?<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Training <\/strong>for then is not only a profession but a <strong>way of life<\/strong>: we are professionals in constant training and participate in the associative life of AICP. This ensures both that we can guide students to professional recognition and that our programmes are always up-to-date and state-of-the-art, because we first improve our skills and then pass them on to our students. <strong>Lots of practice <\/strong>to be able to start using coaching tools even as a new graduate in an autonomous and profitable way. An <strong>underlying pragmatism <\/strong>that allows us to work in the short and long term: what our students learn is needed so that they can build their professionalism but also so that they acquire a growth-oriented mindset and develop critical and strategic thinking. Which will serve them well in any field.<br \/>\nAnd I would add one more: three teachers, united by a <strong>shared vision <\/strong>of the coaching profession and ethics but <strong>characterized by extremely diverse experiences and specialisations<\/strong>.
