Smart Eventi is proud to be at the forefront of sustainability in the event industry<\/a><\/strong>. In April 2023, the Italian Ministry for Ecological Transition introduced the minimum environmental criteria (CAM) for events, which our agency is fully equipped and prepared to manage.<\/p>\n

Main goals of the new environmental criteria for events in Italy<\/h3>\n

The main environmental objectives pursued by the minimum environmental criteria are to provide a positive contribution to climate change mitigation by reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions, promoting the use of energy from renewable sources, preventing waste production by using reusable goods, supporting circular economy models<\/a><\/strong>, raising awareness and spreading knowledge on environmental sustainability and social responsibility among all the stakeholders involved in the event, and providing economic benefits and positive social impacts to the hosting territories.
\nAccording to the new decree, events must be accessible, inclusive, and non-discriminatory, regardless of age, gender, ethnic or religious background, psychological or social condition, ability, or disability. Smart Eventi embraces the “Universal Design” approach defined by the United Nations, which ensures that everyone can participate in events equally.

Who must abide by these new rules?<\/h3>\n

The CAM criteria apply to a wide range of events, including cultural events, art exhibitions, historical reenactments, food and wine festivals, music, theater, and film festivals, sports events, conferences, seminars, and trade fairs. Although CAM criteria are mandatory for events subject to public procurement, they are warmly recommended for all types of events<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

CAM include various contractual clauses in event planning documentation. These clauses include the appointment of a Sustainability Manager, who is responsible for ensuring the implementation of all sustainability actions. In addition, operational meetings required for event organization must be held remotely, and all entry tickets and promotional materials must be accessible in digital format.<\/p>\n

When choosing a venue, several factors must be taken into consideration, including accessibility by public transportation, independent access, and the use of electricity from renewable sources<\/strong>.
