The theme of this year’s Fuorisalone, “Laboratorio Futuro<\/strong>,” perfectly captured the creative dialogue between companies,\u00a0universities, curators, designers, and artists looking to explore innovative concepts and spread them across multiple sectors.<\/p>\n

Visitors had the unique chance to admire amazing historic buildings in Milan, including the Circolo Filologico Milanese, the Palazzo Treves, the Palazzo Visconti, the Palazzo Orsini, the Palazzo Reale, the Palazzo Litta, the Palazzina Appiani, the Palazzo Turati, and the Palazzo Serbelloni.<\/p>\n

Guests at Fuorisalone were also given access to locations that are typically off-limits to the public<\/strong> but are incredibly intriguing to explore. In particular, Alcova’s selection of the former Porta Vittoria Slaughterhouse, an abandoned complex covering at least 15 hectares in the city’s southern region, as a venue for an exhibition deserves to be mentioned. While Morel Milano transformed a 7,000-square-meter space, Convey selected a renovated former factory in front of the Farini stopover.<\/p>\n

Fuorisalone Award: the outcomes<\/h3>\n

The projects that best represented Milan Design Week<\/strong> were given recognition with the Fuorisalone Award<\/strong>. The community was most impacted by “SolidNature – Beyond the Surface<\/strong>,” created by Studio OMA’s Ellen van Loon and Giulio Margheri, out of the 12 options that were offered.
