3 Italian destinations for your safe, social-distancing holiday

The Schengen area is open again and the tourism industry is striving to get the volume of tourists moving about Europe back to a sustainable level. This is not going to be easy, nor does anyone really expect for it to be achieved by the end of this summer, but the reopening of beaches and holiday destinations in June has sparked a glimmer of hope for all the industry professionals – and thousands of holidaymakers. Sure, plane fares are steeper than they were and social-distancing is still very much the rule, but the consensus around Europe is that, after the fear, pain, and unrest of last winter, we deserve a holiday. And, you guess, Italy is the perfect destination. Here you will find uncrowded beaches (if you know where to look), crystal clear waters, small seaside villages and mountain cabins, five-star hotels and glamping sites, where you can enjoy a restorative social-distancing holiday.
