“Erika Roberta Villa, HR Specialist at SparkFabric, highlights how Smart Eventi created an event that authentically reflected the company’s identity for its tenth anniversary, while giving team members—most of whom work remotely—the opportunity to connect in person.”

For SparkFabric, internal events are especially valuable because they create a kind of connection that remote work, however efficient, cannot fully replace.

As Villa explains, “Events are very important for SparkFabric because we all work remotely and there are around seventy of us,” which makes in-person gatherings particularly meaningful. One of the company’s most important recurring moments is Spark Meeting, which she describes as “an event where we spend a couple of days together, all colleagues meet, some see each other for the first time, some get to know one another, and some meet again after months.”

Defining the right format

The initial phase, focused on determining the type of event that best suited the company and the significance of its tenth anniversary, proved to be the most challenging.

In this regard, Villa recalls not only the pressure of needing everything to be perfect but also the uncertainty over which city to host the event in. “At first we wanted to hold the event in Milan because that’s where our headquarters are, then we changed our minds, and then we changed it again,” recalls SparkFabric’s HR Specialist. Smart’s solution proved ideal, by organising the event in Milan at Officine de Rolandi, a venue perfectly suited to combine corporate activities, networking, and entertainment.

Why SparkFabric chose Smart Eventi

The collaboration began with a recommendation from someone SparkFabric already knew and trusted, but what truly confirmed the choice was the immediate sense of alignment established from the very first conversation.

Villa explains: “From the very first call, we understood that you were the right partner to organise this event with, especially this year and for the celebration of our tenth anniversary, so we were looking for a creative partner, one that would understand us and help us.”

She sums up the collaboration in even warmer terms: “We were looking for a partner that would be creative, that would understand us, that would help us organise the event. Smart Eventi worked a miracle!”

Throughout the process, Villa says the SparkFabric team felt listened to and genuinely supported. “They supported us brilliantly, they listened to us, and we truly felt understood.”

An event that reflected SparkFabric’s spirit

A central goal for SparkFabric was to create an event capable of expressing the company’s internal culture in a way that felt coherent and authentic.

As Villa explains, “With this event, we wanted to convey a bit of SparkFabric’s soul,” balancing quality and informality, more institutional moments and more convivial ones. The final result included formal segments, in which the board shared the story of SparkFabric’s ten-year journey, alongside more relaxed moments designed to encourage interaction and enjoyment.

Among the most distinctive creative choices was the 1980s and 1990s theme, accompanied by Arcade games, which Villa says “really brought out the nerdy side in each of us, and so the event represented us perfectly.”

A higher standard for future events

For Villa, one of the clearest outcomes of the collaboration with Smart Eventi was the noticeable leap in quality compared with previous company events.

As she explains, Smart Eventi followed us from beginning to end and genuinely raised the bar for our events, and everyone noticed it.”

Asked to describe Smart Eventi in one word, her answer is immediate: “If I had to describe Smart Eventi in one word, I would use the term ‘quality’, because you could see it in the event, in the organisation, in the collaborators, and in the activity they arranged for us in Milan.”

More than an anniversary

What stands out in Erika Roberta Villa’s account is that SparkFabric did not want a polished event for its own sake. It wanted something recognisable, something that felt true to the people inside the company.

That is probably why this collaboration seems to have worked so well: the result was not an event imposed from the outside, but one that gave shape to what SparkFabric already is.
